Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Dear All,

I have recently arrived in Canada with a S-1 student VISA, but my program is a Masters degree in Engineering which is a part-time program, and my classes will be held 2 days every month, I desperately need to apply for a work-permit.

The normal law for FULL-TIME students is that they have to study 6 months in the university before applying for the work permit, but im a PART-TIME student, what is the law in this case ? .. how many hours am I allowed to work ? ... I am free all day ? wat to do ? ... please help me out .

Thanks in advance, looking forward to your useful replies.

You don't qualify for an off campus work permit because your studies are only part time.

Your only option is to find an on campus job (i.e. job at the university or college you are attending).

Hi sycla,

Thanks for your reply, Am I eligible for a post-graduation work permit for this program ?

If not , can I switch to a full time program in another college ? and then can i apply for off campus work permit ?

Thanks.

if there's opportunity to start another program that allows you to get a work permit, i think i'd rather advise you to do so in order not to waste your precious time. just go for it while it's still available

Who will confirm me this information that I will get a Work permit after the other program ? ...

My Study permit mentions the University as McMaster, where as if I switch to another college or program, the university will not remain the same,

And when applying for a work permit, you have to submit your study permit`s copy, then how will i justify that i am studying in a different program in a different college and not the one that I was intented to do so.

So basically if i switch i would need a new study permit for that college, how will i get that issued to me ?
