Hi,
I wanted ask if there are any case that is similar to mine and your thoughts on it.

So I have applied for the PGWP in June and am waiting for a decision. Due to not receiving a study permit in time for the start of school (Suppose to start Sept 2015 but I got my study permit in October), I missed the fall semester. However, I deferred my enrolment to the winter semester that started Jan 2016 (which, made me a part time student for 1 semester). After the winter semester, I was a full time student for 3 years until graduation (4 year program).

Does the deferral and part time studies of one semester qualify for the exception (leave from studies) mentioned in the PGWP eligibility?

Thank you

Hi!

I am in the same situation as you right now, were you able to get your PGWP?

if you deferred your enrollment, doesn't your study then start from Jan instead of the Sept semester?

Yeah but you're still considered a part-time student for that year because its based on the amount of credits you received, at least that's how it is for U of T. I'm planning to add a letter explaining my situation when I apply, fingers crossed it'll be ok.
