Hi,

At first, I thought of applying Super Visa for my parents and started medical process and completed the Medicals in September. Later I changed my mind and thought of applying Visitor visa as l thought documentation would be simple

I applied for a Visitor Visa for my parents in Nov 6 th and on Nov 28 th I received the following email from Immigration BG

"
embassy has requested for additional test as mentioned below,

A medical report from a Chest Specialist is required to further evaluate the abnormal findings seen on the applicant’s current posterior-anterior (PA) chest x-ray: Tiny nodular density in mid zone measuring 0.5 cm overlying right 5 th rib. We require a report clarifying /confirming the applicant’s diagnosis, management /treatment needs, and prognosis. Please include all pertinent laboratory investigation and imaging result reports, including any follow-up PA chest x ray images.

THREE sputum samples (spontaneous or induced) are required for acid-fast bacilli (AFB) smear microscopy and Mycobacterial culture testing. If available, molecular testing based on nucleic acid amplification should be performed on the first sample when all AFB smears are negative OR on one of any samples with a positive smear. Mycobacterial cultures must be incubated for 6 to 8 weeks and drug susceptibility testing (DST) must be performed on cultures positive for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The three sputum samples can be collected on the same day at least 1 hour apart OR on 3 consecutive mornings

*Note: Client must be in fasting while giving the sputum sample"

"

Can some one explain what this exactly is?

Do this affect my parents Visa. I am worried about it now

What do I need to do now?

They found some irregularities on the chest x-ray. Canada wants to ensure it is not TB. If it is TB they would need to complete treatment in their home country before visiting Canada. The iregularity on the x-ray could be due to a previous infection but could also be due to a variety of other medical issues so IRCC wants to rule out any issue or ongoing TB infections. The TB testing (sputum culture) and the repeat x-ray at around 3 months should able rule out TB but will delay their application by a few months. The repeat x-ray is done to compare to the first x-ray. As long as the irregularity remains the same or gets smaller/disappears that typically confirms that it isn’t TB. Depending on whether the radiologist feels the irregularity is likely scarring due to a previous infection or potentially something else more investigation could be requested by IRCC. In most cases after the TB test if negative the application goes on to be processed without any more medical testing requested.

Thank you so much for the reply

I am just curious to know, how come they are asking for Medicals in Visiting Visa? I never submitted them the medicals

Like I mentioned earlier, I got the pre medicals done before while starting Super Visa but I never submitted results

So you didn’t do an upfront medical with panel physician. Physician would have sent report to IRCC, not you.

Got you. Now what would be the solution? Please let me know how to proceed
Follow the instructions. This will impact any visa now because IRCC has the medical report. TB is serious and without following instructions and passing the medical, entering Canada is not possible.

my mother’s visa has been approved. We booked her tickets for March 7 th. But, we received request for Chest X ray now and Sptum samples we received is says Nothing has been detected.

Now my question is, She is landing here on March 7 th and Hospital is requesting us to get Chest X ray now. Does this affect her landing?

Do we need to go to hospital now?

Is her passed stamped with a TRV? Very strange to get a Chest x-ray request now? Was it from IRCC? Has she already completed a medical?
