Parent's Sponsorship

Hello,

My brother is filling the application to sponsor our parents to come to Canada, so I'll present the case on his behalf hoping to get some insight on where we are standing. He became a Canadian citizen in 2015 (I did in 2016 but I'm just a backup) He also covers all the financial requirements to go ahead with the application. My dad's file is clean and he's never had any issues visiting Canada, my mom on the other hand was denied entry into Canada in 2015 due to misrepresentation (that's another story) and prohibited entry into Canada for 5 years. Other than that unfortunate incident she's never had any issues with the law in Canada or in her country of residence. Does she stand a chance of being sponsored?

What about her health? she's overweight and has some thyroid issues.

The issue here is your mother's misrepresentation. She has been banned for 5 years entry into Canada. And since 5 years hasn't passed, she is not eligible for PR including your father. If your brother mails off the PR application, it would be rejected and sent back.

Agreed. There is no point applying until after the ban is lifted in 2020.

Just to have it a 100% clear, even if we apply only for my dad only which hasn't been denied entry into Canada, you are telling me he would be related to my mom's case and his application would be denied too?
