The instruction guide says the background/declaration form (IMM 5669) and the generic application form (IMM 0008) should be filled by, here I quote, "you, the principle applicant".

Here is my interpretation to CIC wordings, please correct me if I am wrong:
I am the sponsor.
One of my parents is the principle applicant.

If I want to sponsor both of my parents, then 3 background/declaration forms (IMM 5669) and 3 generic application forms (IMM 0008) should be filled by my dad, my mom, and I.

Is this correct?

1. No. Your father completes the IMM08 as the principal application with your mother as a dependent. You don't complete the IMM08
2. The IMM 5669 is completed by both your mother and father not you.

Does the same rule apply to IMM 5406, i.e. each parent fills out a copy, but not the sponsoring child?

The guide says this form must be completed by:

- your dependent children aged 18 years or older (whether accompanying you to Canada or not).

... which is a bit confusing... ???

Thanks!

If you are sponsoring, then you're already a PR (or citizen) of Canada and you do not need to fill out this form.

It can get confusing because some of these forms are used for other avenues into Canada, which doesn't involve a sponsor in Canada.
