Hello Every one.

I am currently in Pakistan and my daughter co sponsored by her husband are eligible as per CIC conditions. My concern is the estimated time line. The estimated time as per CIC website is 42 months. I need clarification whether this includes the entire time for considering the process or is this just the time line for determining the eligibility of sponsor?

If it is the first case then 3 1/2 yr plus minus few months should not be a bad option, but if the local process starts after 42 months which would mean 2-3 years more , then I would rather apply for Super Visa .

Shall be extremely grateful if someone can help me please? :-\ :-\ :-\ :-\

The processing times you're looking at apply to applications submitted prior to the freeze on parent / grandparent applications. So they don't apply to the applications that are being accepted now. We don't know for sure how long it will take for the new batch of applications to be processed - but it is expected to be shorter than the processing times posted for old applications.

But don't forget the new applications will be placed behind the old applications so it will be a while before the new ones are processed.

"CIC will continue to process applications to sponsor parents and grandparents based on the first in first out principle. This means that new applications submitted in this category when the program reopens on January 2, 2014, will be placed in queue behind the applications in the existing inventory of sponsorship applications for parents and grandparents."

Many thanks for your responses.

Technically the queue for parent sponsorship seems to be much long but certainly worth a try. I would take my chances then and apply for this while the window is open.

All the best to every one.

In the meantime you can still apply for PR and supervisa at the same time.
