Parents Sponsorship - New Delhi. Passport held for over 6 months now

Hi All,

As part of sponsorship processing my parents were asked to submit their medical examination and other documents, including their passports in October 2013. They havent heard back anything from the New Delhi consulate until now, so basically they have been without a passport for 6+ months. Is this normal? Generally isnt a passport returned within a few days/weeks at most?

Would appreciate any insight. thanks!

As scylla said, join that thread but 6 months is infact very little - some folks had their passport held up upto 15 months
