Hello to everyone,
Thank you for reading my post. I would like to ask you for help with giving some useful information on military background checks, potential interview questions and any concerns which should be taken into consideration.

My father has served for 17 years in Human Resource department in the National Security Committee USSR. Now he is on retirement for 10 years. I am planning to submit application in 2018 but early preparation is the best step I can do.

Please let me know if you have gone through the same situation
1. How long does the sponsorship application can be delayed for?
2. What type of national security checks are done (We would like to collect information as much info as possible)
3. If the interview takes place, which questions are usually asked to dependent?
4. Is there any formal questionnaire that every dependent should respond/qualify?
5. Are there any other screenings done besides interviews?
6. Does anyone know the statistics of the percentage of people received approval to immigrate to Canada while having a military record?
7. Any dependency on which country the applicant from?
8. Does anyone have list of countries having more successful ratio for immigration to Canada?
9. What advice would you give to have the application approved knowing that if it is not the easy case?
10. Do we need to hire a professional lawyer to cover all the questions (over $3000 just to address questions after application submitted)

Facts and useful links are more than welcome.

Thank you all.
Having parents close by is the best thing we can only dream of.
