Hi,

I have got the confirmation number for parents sponsorship 2019. I would like to sponsor my mother alone this time as my father needs to take care of his sister and cannot come to Canada.

My parents are not divorced. Can I apply for just 1 parent??

I see the forms have options that the partner will accompany or not.

You can apply for one parent alone and have the other as non-accompanying.
However, both parents MUST pass all medical and background checks.

Hi. Thanks for the replay. Does that mean I need to fill the forms for my father who is not accompanying too? Still he need to have medical and PCC done?

Correct. If your father does not pass, your mother will be denied as well.

Yes. He is also included in the count to meet LICO.

Basically, everything would be the same as applying for both except that he is stated as non-accompanying. So at the end of the process, only PPR or COPR for your mom.
