Hello,
1.The name in the birth certificate has a different spelling than the one in the passport. There is a remark made by the Indian authority in the passport- `the holder of this passport has previously known by the name of (different spelling). Should i put yes or no for the question in the Canadian immigration application form - Have you ever used any other name.
2. In the Canadian visitor visa application, we somehow missed to include one of the additional family members name. now, i am confused with the PR application if i should include that missed name or go without that particular person`s name.
Kindly advise

I think you should include the missing family member, and just explain that you missed it in the initial visitor visa but wanted to add it in. I hope it is something small like a half sibling that is very distant.

As for the spelling of the name, I think that sounds good, to list it as a previous name, but I'm not certain about that.

Thank you tink23 and Romanspb.
With respect to name, we answered "no" for the question "have you ever used a different name" in the visitor visa application. If we say "yes" now , will it create un necessary problem?
Regarding the missed family member, she is a sister who never talked to the applicant for a very long time. She is in her 80's age. I can include the name in the PR application but i am worried that the officer might go back to visitor visa application and create problem.
The bottom line, we are worried if the officer might say it as a misrepresentation of information and close the file. Should i consult an immigration lawyer or consultant before submitting the PR application? May be i worry too much...
Any advise will be greatly appreciated.
