Hi everybody,

I would like to know if somebody is waiting for PPR for parents from the Mexican Visa office.
My mom sent her Medical in May 2013 and we haven't
Received anything from immigration after that.
I sent an email asking for an update and their answer was that it's in process and that's it.
Do you guys know how long would normally take for them to ask for the passport ?
We started her application in Nov 2009. I know that they were
On strike for a few months last year but it seems too long the waiting.
If any of you guys were in the same situation any advice will be
Appreciated.....(sorry for my bad English)

Thanks ;)

You likely still have several years to wait before your mother will be issued a visa.

The processing time for the Mexico visa office for parent applications is 58 months:

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-parents.asp#west

The first stage of application processing at the Mississauga office was around 42 months. You completed this stage sometime in early 2013. You have now moved onto the second stage of the application processing at the Mexico VO. This stage will take another few years.

Thanks for replying, but do you think that will be several years to wait :(?
They finished the first stage in the middle of 2012 in Missisagua and they sent
The file to Mexico City in that same year . Requested additional documents and the police
Certificate and we sent everything late 2012 and early 2013.
I thought that after you send the medical which we did in May 2013 its just a 2,3 months period before they
Ask for passports....but maybe I'm wrong, and yes they just change the period time for Mexico
It used to be 48 months last year now they add 10 more months :( .
We have in total since they received the application 50 months.
I hope that doesn't take too much as is just this horrible waiting and its nothing else from our end.

Thanks

The total processing time is the Mississauga time + the Mexico time.

Mississauga is 42 months and Mexico is 58 months. So that's a total of 100 months - which translates to a little over 8 years.

Oh i didn't know I though that it was all together 48 months.
Wow I don't understand why they asked for medical
They are only valid for one year. It doesn't make sense they should ask
For that almost at the end :(, now the medical will expire in May it's not good :(

Its upto XXX months, New Delhi states 61 months but in reality its anywhere form 12-24, if meds were sent then its pretty close as she needs to pass that and after background checks are complete, they will ask for passport. Unfortunately, no real data to provide for Mexico LVO as not many apps from there in parents thread

I don't think it will be several years, as the processing times for parent applications on CIC website are not accurate. Hopefully you hear from them within the next one year if not before the medicals expire this May (best case scenario).

Thanks for replying that sounds more promising .....I hope they ask for passport this year.

We can do nothing but wait :(
