Hello,

Just a quick question but before that a little background.

Under immense pressure I sponsored my parents in law in 2017 with my wife. By pressure I mean coercion, threats and generally making my life miserable. I knew that once they got here they would demand a PR and that’s what happened.
They promised to stay a little bit for a visit and leave but changed their intentions right at the airport.

After 1 year of major fights, interfering with my personal space and nearly blackmailing I finally called the police after they (wife, father and mother beat my 7 year old) he couldn’t go to school for nearly 3 days because of the marks.

the police did not charge them but told them to leave the property. They eventually left.

now, they want to come back and I’m not signing. My wife will be the lone sponsor and I’m not letting them stay at my home no matter what the application says.

What happens in this situation? Can she use the original affadivit that I signed for or has to make a new one because they are returning after a few years? Minus my name and income.

what happens when one sponsor is refusing and the other wants the people in the house? Will they compare new application with new one?

Will they take the police report into consideration? Not charged though. The police reported it to immigration right in front of me.

thanks

Some part of your post aren't very clear.

If they have valid visitor visa or super visas, then they can return to Canada as visitors.

If their visitor visas have expired and they are looking to apply for new ones, then you would simply refuse to be involved as a co-signer. They will need to qualify on their own and you won't have any responsibility or involvement.

If an application has been submitted to sponsor them for PR and you are a co-sponsor, but the application hasn't yet been approved - then you need to contact IRCC and withdraw your sponsorship as soon as possible.

Thanks. Supervisa is expired. I was worried that they would use the old information and affadivit to somehow get in again.

it’s my understanding that all info would have to be resubmitted ( job letter, income)in which case I would refuse.

If my wife lone signs for them and promises to keep them and I refuse. Don’t know how that would work.

If it’s your wife sponsoring for a Supervisa, they will look at her income only if you refuse. If it’s a TRV then it’s her parents income that is considered. If there was a police report, even with no charges, that could have a significant impact on their application.

If your wife sponsors them for a super visa and she has enough income on her own to meet the low income requirement, then the application can be approved even if you don't co-sign.

It is her home as well so this really needs to be sorted out beforehand because if she qualifies to sponsor them they’ll likely be showing up at your door unless they have a restraining order. Was there a formal police report? If so, I would suggest sending in to CIC. It doesn’t sound like charges were filed so it won’t show up in a background check.

That’s the crux of this issue I got fooled the first time and paid a heavy price. I don’t want to live in extended family situations anymore(my family or hers) and I don’t appreciate being literally blackmailed by my significant other and her family.

anycase, thanks for all the help. Times have changed people are willing to crush anybody to get to Canada. I’m born and raised here perhaps I’m not used to the cutthroat business.
