Hey

Is there a health insurance policy for a visiting parent that covers emergency and non emergency treatments? By non-emergemcy i mean routine check-up if and when required.

Looking forward.

There are some policies that will cover some non-emergency care - however they are extremely expensive (much higher policy payments) and you will be better off paying for non-emergency care out of your own pocket. Look at it this way, insurance companies are in the business of making money. So they are not going to sell you something that they know will cost them more money than they get from you. Best option is to get insurance for the emergency care and then pay for everything else yourself.

Also you can only bring 90 days of medication to Canada so you would need to pay for doctor visit plus prescription costs if necessary.
