Hello guys

I am an Australian citizen and I want to sponsor my mother to visit Canada. What documents do I have to submit and how do I do this, she just wants to visit Canada to see my younger brother who is currently a student in Toronto.

How do I proceed with this, what kind of papers do I need to fill to show my financial support for her as I will be taking care of all her expenses for the trip. She owns properties (residence) in New Delhi, and has no intention to stay in Canada what so ever, just want to visit my bro as he is a student. He can't sponsor her as he is not a permanent resident or anything like that.

How is this going to be done...Kindly advise, someone experienced???

Cheers

Read the CIC website and select visitor...

Do Australian Citizens needs visa? for Canada

I don't think so, can't she hop on a plane and come here directly

She's visa exempt, so most of the process you'll read about, she doesn't have to do.

Basically, she'll need to provide proof she'll leave Canada at the end of her stay (return ticket is usually enough for visa exempt citizens, having a job and other family back home can help too). You won't need to sponsor her. She may need to provide the address of where she's staying while she visits (I did) and explain what she's doing - visiting family, travelling, etc.

OP is visa exempted doesn't mean that her parents and sibling are also holding visa exempted passports.

Hello Everyone

Thank you very much for all your replies...well my bad I did not give this info...I am an Australian citizen but my mother is not, she is not visa exempt- as she is an Indian citizen residing in New Delhi, India.
I want to sponsor her visit, to Canada- What documents do I show to the Canadian Embassy in New Delhi, India to prove that I will be sponsoring her whole trip to Toronto, Canada.
As I said previously my brother studies as an International student in Toronto and she is going to stay with him, now I know he cannot provide any sponsorship/arrangement for her as he is not a permanent resident. We can book a hotel for her and show that accommodation arrangements but I am just confused what papers (Bank statements, IT returns etc) do I have to show from here in Australia to sponsor her trip to Canada.
Kindly help!!

Well technically your brother has to invite her ( there is no sponsorship at this time ), and promoise to take care of her expenses but as a student, he probably has not much to show. Your mother has to technically apply on her own and mention that her 2nd son in Australia is willing to pay for her expenses, you can add your paperwork about job, bank bal but not sure how CIC will see this.

See my link for parent visit visa, might give you better idea
