Hi guys! I'm hoping to get some input from you all
I was one of the lucky ones to be able to be invited to apply for the 2019 Parental Sponsorship. However, we have a little bit of an immigration history which I'm not sure how it would impact my parents' application.
Back in 2009-2011, my parents tried to apply for a humanitarian and compassionate claim from within Canada and was denied. They were given a Direction to Report form that says "Please be advised that your removal from Canada has been scheduled for March 27, 2012 issued by CBSA. My parents left on March 27, 2012 using tickets purchased by them and was fully compliant with the Removal order. They also checked in with immigration and received a "Certificate of Departure" from CBSA in the airport which dates that they have left when they were told to.
So fast forward to now. As I was preparing their application and was including these documents, I noticed that the Certificate of Departure, which was manually filled up by the CBSA agent had crossed out the "Departure Order" line and instead had my dad sign the "Deportation Order" line. Now, I'm not quite sure how this affect our application as being under a deportation order would require an "Authorization to Return to Canada" form which I heard is difficult to obtain while being under removal order would mean they can enter Canada as soon as they have the papers to do so (in this case, if the parent sponsorship gets processed with no issue)
Can anyone please share insight and if possible links to any materials I could look into?
Thank you!
