Hi, I recently got selected to sponsor my parent for 2018. When I initially applied I didn’t notice the income requirements. I just have one applicable year income. My question is; can I keep and save my selection for two years and apply in two years?
Thank you.
yes, please applySamti you must have declared that you meet income requirements on the interest to sponsor application form in order to submit the interest to sponsor. So you do meet income requirements. Otherwise how did they accept your interest to sponsor form. Don't they check your income before selecting you?
Don't let this opportunity go to waste.

So if you choose no you still enter the lottery?
I think not. So if Samti got selected he picked yes. Meaning he has the required income.
This is self declared. His eligibility is not being verified at this stage
So why are people allowed to make false declarations with no repercussions which disrupt the system and rob others of a spot?
Sorry. I guess it's just part of having the fair system. There is no need to tell people they are idiots. It's all about being fair.
Let Samti decide what he wants to do.
Situations can change in between lottery and finally applying. For example someone may meet LICO at time of lottery so properly answers YES and submits lottery form. But then in next month they may get separated and lose their co-signer, may have a child, parents may get a new child, etc etc to increase family size and suddenly make them ineligible based on income. But they still filled in the lottery form correct at the time.
However in the case of OP here, they simply didn't read the rules properly and wasted a sport. Ideally this would result in a ban from the program for several years, however this is not realistically possible to implement and track such a system.
