Hi Guys

I hope all of you are doing great.

I am sort of newbie on this forum and researching different aspects of immigration before I make my final call to apply for immigration. I need some guidance regarding "parent and spousal sponsorship"

a) Currently I am single. I am intrigued as to if I apply for immigration now and get married later on, How much time will it take me to call my spouse to Canada. or other way around my question is; What is better option.. 1) Applying spouse visa 2) making spouse part of PR application at first place

b) I don't know exactly what do you guys mean by "Parent sponsorship". In my case, I am interested in calling and keeping my parents with me in Canada but not solely interested in parents immigration if it requires further stringent regulations.
For that purpose I have researched immigration website, where I came across super visa option where it says that one has to meet certain conditions including minimum income . My question is: Is there any minimum period requirement for super visa.
For example, Should I be declaring my minimum income for some years to qualify for super visa? (like 2 3 years)?

a)
1) Applying spouse visa -
Application to sponsor your spouse for PR visa takes around 12months to complete the processing.
if you marry while your application for PR is been processed you must include your spouse in your PR application as an accompanying or non-accompanying dependant.

2) making spouse part of PR application at first place -
If you include your spouse in your PR application and its approved, your spouse will be a PR same time you become a PR.

b)

After you become a PR, apply for visitor visa (TRV) or Super visa, if you want your parents to visit and stay with you in Canada for temporary short duration's, e.g., 6 months.

After you become a PR, sponsor your parents for PR if you want them to reside permanently in Canada…….to sponsor your parents, you first have to enter the lottery and if selected, you could then sponsor them.

c)
You must meet LICO for each of the three taxation years immediately preceding the date of your application.

How can I show proof of income to sponsor my parents and grandparents?

For example……you apply to enter lottery in 2018…..get selected to sponsor your parents in 2019…….you need to meet LICO for 3 years prior to your application.

calculate family size when applying for the parent and grandparent super visa

You could also include your spouse income yo meet LICO for super visa.....Refer.........What must my child or grandchild do to meet the LICO minimum?
If your child or grandchild does not meet the LICO minimum, their spouse or common-law partner can assist by also providing a letter of invitation with one of the documents listed in the Document Checklist (IMM 5484).

Hi Wakki
Thank you for your reply

I am still confused in between three alternatives
a) Visitor visa
b) Super visa
c) Permanent Residency for parents

i) Difference between Visitor visa and super visa is that in case of super visa it is valid for 2 years in a single go and visit visa is valid for 6 months only. Is my understanding correct?

ii) My question is whether 3 year income proof is required if I am calling my parents under visitor visa or super visa stream

iii) And how stringent are super visa regulations. Does I have to have very persuasive cause to call my parents under super visa or simple invitation can work?

(I WAS GOING THROUGH ANOTHER THREAD YESTERDAY, WHEREBY NUMBER OF PEOPLE QUESTIONED AFTER SPENDING ALMOST SOME MONTHS IN CANADA WHETHER TO APPLY FOR SUPER VISA FOR PARENTS OR NOT)

iv) Further I came to know during my research that once a person meet 3 year income condition and other conditions, his sponsorship becomes part of lottery for parent sponsorship. How much time does it takes a normal person to win in a lottery.
I MIGHT BE SOUNDING MORE RIGOROUS IN THESE QUESTIONS. BUT I JUST WANT TO GET A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF HOW THINGS WORK. THANKS

i)
The super visa lets your parents visit for up to two years at a time.
Visitor visa lets your parents visit for six months or less at a time.
Visa extension is allowed if approved.

How does the parent and grandparent super visa differ from a multiple entry visa?

ii) I may be wrong.....seems the 3 year LICO apply to parents sponsorship......for visitor visa or Super visa seems its the most recent LICO.

Eligibility criteria and documentary requirements
evidence of the child’s or grandchild’s means of providing financial support through meeting the low income cut-off (LICO) minimum (a co-signer may be added to meet the LICO minimum) in the form of one of the following documents: the most recent copy of the notice of assessment

iii) You don't need a persuasive cause to invite your parents.......you need to meet the LICO requirement to be eligible to invite your parents for Super visa........however, your parents must show the have strong ties to their home country and satisfy other admissibility considerations.

Temporary residents: Eligibility and admissibility considerations

iv) Visitor visa or Super visa invitation for your parents.......its your personal decision.

iv) meeting the 3 year LIOC condition and other conditions does not automatically put you in the lottery for parent sponsorship.......you have to apply or tell IRCC you want to be enter the lottery.

The lottery is usually drawn at the beginning of the year and winners are randomly selected......winners are informed so after.

Supervisa is a 10 year multi-entry visa, and allows each stay in Canada of up to 2 years. The actual stay parents get is still entirely discretional upon CBSA officer upon entry, so they may or may not get 2 years.

ii) My question is whether 3 year income proof is required if I am calling my parents under visitor visa or super visa stream

3 years income is only required when spnosoring parents for PR.

For supervisa simply a letter of employment stating your current salary, is good enough.

iii) And how stringent are super visa regulations. Does I have to have very persuasive cause to call my parents under super visa or simple invitation can work?

Either is fine. Other than allowing a longer possible stay, supervisa also makes buying travel medical insurance mandatory for your parents.

There are no odds to show. Every year will depend entirely on how many people apply, vs how many cap spots they are offering. This can change any given year. Expect though that odds will get worse and worse each year as cap spots stay the same but more people become qualified so submit an entry.

Supervisa is more dependent on your income but TRV is dependent on the assets of your parents. More to it but the his one of the major stumbling blocks.
