Hi Everyone,

My wife and I were married this Past August and we submitted our application in October 2014 (Received at CIC Mississauga on October 15). While I have yet to receive any acknowledgement from them (probably when they open the file?), I was wondering if there is a possibility to apply for a visit visa for her?

I am employed full time and getting vacation days frequently is not too easy. She is currently finishing up her BBA and has a couple weeks in between semesters that she can travel here on if the visa is in place. I am planning on visiting her this January so we can use her break between semesters but I doubt I can travel that often. Any advice?

Maybe not the place to post this but what about applying for a US visit Visa as I am able to work in our US office as well (and do so frequently)? Worth Applying?

Thanks!

p.s. How do i get the timeline under my username on these posts (left side)

You can try, but the consensus on this forum is that she should have applied "before" you got married. I can't comment on the idea of a US visit visa.

Once you have ten posts you will be able to complete your signature/profile.

To apply for VV your spouse needs to show strong ties with her home country to assure CIC that she will be back on xyz due date due to commitments and appointments etc... These could be Job, Education, Thesis submission, Exams, Land and Banking issues etc etc.

IDK about US

Thanks for your reply! She will have a semester of school left and a mandatory Internship that she must complete before she can get her degree. Is a letter from her University Registrar and some sort of letter from her Internship placement sufficient to say that she will need to be back here on xyz date?

It is tough but it is possible. Look up some posts by mikeymike. His wife was successful in getting a multi-entry TRV. He and his wife presented a really strong application with lots of proof. Their application is the perfect blueprint for applying for TRV.

Post this question on Islamabad thread..... a number of ppl have been successful in getting their spouses TRV's....

but no u don't need to apply before u submit spousal application as someone mentioned on here previously... u can apply after u submit ur spousal application...

as long as u can show sufficient proof that she will return to Pak n not overstay the visit visa that's all u need.... proof that she is enrolled full time in a university program should b good enough.... but ppl on the Islamabad thread can give further guidance.... u will also need to submit a letter n all that....

the application for TRV will be submitted by her in Pak so maybe when u go to visit her in Jan that would b a good time to put it all together with her.... they have local visa office locations around the city in Islamabad n other major cities like Lahore n Islamabad.... n the application will get processed in Pak not in London (where ur spousal application was probably sent)

Yes, try to make your case as strong as u can, attach all such letters and appointments/schedules with file. Apply for TRV after sponsorship application is filed and AOR is received

Sounds great! Thanks for your reply everyone! Will definitely check out mikeymike's posts and the ones in the other thread. You guys are all awesome!

Good luck!

btw, here is one of mikeymike's posts:

He sent in a ton of proof. If you can even just anywhere close to what he provided, it should be fine.
