Do paid internships count as work experience? I could not find a definitive answer to this question. Pointers to threads would help as well.

Yes, it will count only for FSW.

Yes, paid internship experience can be claimed only for non-Canadian experience.
 
Another question. Does paid graduate research assistant experience (20 hours per week) while being enrolled in a full time graduate program count ?

Yes, if the experience was gained outside Canada and you can support it with reference letter.
 
Can I count my paid training
(4 months +1.5 unpaid leave+ 4 months ) work experience in FSW if it was done after recieving graduation certificate and was a part of my graduation to appear for an exam to get a licence as full fleged engineer.

Letter mentioned salary as training allowance .

Work experience was outside Canada.
