OWP For Common-Law

Hi All!
Let me describe my case :
My common-law got a one year contract offer in Canada and no she is applying for a work permit using cic online form. I want to go with her and find a job as well (I am IT specialist). I want to get an Open Work Permit(OWP). We were instructed to add my application to hers. We filled all documents except one - "Document: Purpose of Travel - Other"...
So my purpose of travel is to be with her and to find a work. However, the instructions says:

You must submit proof that you are coming to Canada for a temporary visit.
Examples of what you can provide as proof: A scanned copy of: Your flight ticket departing Canada, Your travel itinerary (e.g. places you will visit or stay, such as hotel booking), Proof of a medical appointment.

What should I upload? I could buy a flight ticket for Aug next year to New York, but would it be enough? Or should I write a letter describing my case?
