Hello all!

I'm helping a friend with his PR app. His common-law partner is sponsoring him. He's currently on a PGWP that expires in a couple of months.

First question, the consensus is that the PGWP is NOT extendable, correct? Which means that, once it expires, even if he submitted an OWP app with his PR app, he must stop working, right?

Second question, the correct form for the OWP is IMM 5710, correct? And he would select "An initial work permit or work permit with a new employer," correct?

Thanks for the help!

You might be interested to know that a thread started about 3 hours ago on here regarding this topic. The gist of it, if true, is that OWP applications will no longer be accepted with an inland application. So, it's a moot point anyway.

Hi,

You are correct; IMM5710E is the correct form, however...CIC has changed things, including the mailing address for Inland applications and the inability to submit an OWP with the application (as of Jan 15, 2014):

Thanks for the info. Gotta love CIC giving NO clear guidance. Par for the course. Will follow the other thread. Thanks again for the fast heads up!
