+1(514) 937-9445 or Toll-free (Canada & US) +1 (888) 947-9445
The Entry/Exit control system is only between US and Canada at this time ( as publicized ) but will expand to other countries. Unless they want to scrutinize the traveler with flight info etc, it cannot be based on stamps so unless they check thoroughly, there is no way to tell unless asked ( at which point it will be lying ) and immigration/custom form don't have a column asking "If ever overstayed"

My relatives from Lithuania when they come from Canada through Frankfurt or Amsterdam ALWAYS get their passports stamped (do not remember in UK). (Maybe because border officers in Germany and Holland do not read Wikipedia? :)) When they get to Lithuania- the passports, of course, are not stamped there.

user828, of course it is not based only on stamps. A person could be 100% legal and still have that stamp.

I don't know what you mean - what I was trying to say is ( this is in most countries )
For e.,g
If someone from India comes to Canada - They are stamped while leaving for Canada > Stamped when Entering Canada > Stamped in Home Country when they go back
Now if they overstayed for 2 years and go back to home country,it will obviously have that date - now when they come back to Canada, you can't tell if that stamp from home country was after overstaying in Canada or after going to some other country for visit and then going back
Similarly, for the OP - if they overstayed and go back - their passport will be stamped for say 1st June, 2014
They come back to Canada, since there is no EXIT immigration ( NON-US ) - no way to tell how long the person stayed before UNLESS they deep scan the situation but they don't for all passengers ( only if they are caught in secondary and they suspect something )
