Overlapping dates on employment certificate

Hello ppl,

I have a 1 yr teaching experience but it is overlapping with my other job employment date.
ex:
Computer Instructor - Jan. 2004 - Dec. 2004
Software Engineer - Sept. 2004 - Feb. 2006 (I was on indefinite leave with the previous before accepting this job)

So, do you think it is ok? or do I need to have a written explanation with to avoid confusion.

can you explain in detail ?

however in this case, if you provide an explanation letter that would be great. you have to show the reason how is that possible.. you cannot show full time job at the same time.

Hi,
It is overlapping in the sense that I am still connected with my previous company when I applied and got my approval to work in the US. That's why when I requested for my employment cert from my previous job, the dates which I started with my present job and the end date of the last overlapped. Do you think I will have problem with that?

As per my thought..

first thing, just getting an approval doesn't mean that you started working in sept 2004. if your joining period is after dec 2004 then your period will be counted from that dec 2004 and not sept 2004.

this thing you can explain in your letter as what exactly you did during sept 2004-dec2004. this is fact that you haven't worked at both place together. correct ? so between this period you were preparing to come for US and also working as computer instructor.

so mention this in your explanation letter that sept 2004 is a period when I got job approval but I started working from so and so date.
