Technically you can't "move" but you could "visit" until your application has been decided if you are visa exempt or have a TRV to enter Canada. There are plenty of threads and advice on this forum about what to show CBSA when you cross the border.

I'm trying to find a specific thread where this has been discussed in detail, or someone has shared their experience. Can anyone share one with me?

I know there's a line between being honest with CBSA, and being too honest. You have to be open with them, but if you're too open, it can come back and bite you. Not all officers are sympathetic to the cause.

I think we are going to attempt the Visitor Pass in the next two months. If anyone has any words of wisdom on how to accomplish this I'm open to it. I have a 5 yr old daughter who is accompanying me.
