1) I had submitted & mailed the in paper Outland Sponsor application for my spouse on January 10th. So far, I have not received any AOR. How long is it taking to send an acknowledgement?

2) Now that I see that processing times have been increased to 19 months from 12 months for Outland Visa. can I apply for Visitor visa for my spouse so that at least she can visit me.
Any help will be much appreciated.

Is it advisable to apply for Visitor Visa While I have already mailed the document for Outland Sponsor visa for my spouse? Some people are saying that you shouldn't apply as it can affect or delay your application

Applying for TRV is separate from your sponsorship application and is treated separately. It's okay to apply unless you apply for TRV for so many times that you make IRCC alarmed about your intentions.

She can apply but will want to show funds, travel history and very strong ties to home country - job, property, investments, family etc. VOs know she is married to someone in Canada so will want proof that she is coming to visit to move permanently.
