On the portal where we can add supporting documents, I am able to see we get to select category and then we can add documents

I understand there are naming conventions and file size limits. But to ensure file size limit is not an issue, can I upload multiple documents for the same category?
example: I was able to see that I can upload 2 documents for proof of relationship (both of them were less than 4mb though)

i want to check it breaking down the documents in smaller chunks is allowed and won’t cause an issue?
Please advise

It should be okay if absolutely necessary to split one document into two or more. But avoid it is better (for example don’t split your PR card into more than one document or the passport for example). If you split things, I would suggest you clearly indicate somehow that there is another part in multiple places.

I had a lot of issues with this when I was submitting my application (submitted Nov 18/21). There is the obvious, clearly stated limit of 4MB per file. But I was getting an error message constantly, despite lowering and lowering the size of each file. I discovered there's a limit to the AMOUNT of documents in each category. I don't remember all of the categories now, but the 'Other' category needed a lot. In the end, after spending weeks lowering the size of all of these documents, I actually had to COMBINE a bunch of them in order to squeak in under the document limit. Is this limit posted anywhere? No. Or at least it wasn't at the time. But that's what ended up working. I forget what it was now - maybe 25 documents in the 'other' category was the max?
