Hi,

Can anyone help me on this.

Right now I am in Canada and have completed my PR processing and waiting for the PR card.
Also my marriage has been planned on May. To get my spouse here I will be applying the sponsorship which in a way has a processing time of 8-12 months.

My Question is there a way I can bring him here before the whole sponsorship process, something like visitor visa applying immediately
.
Below are few more questions i would like to get to know
  • time line for the Visitor Visa in India
  • Is it ok to apply for the visitorvisa for him before the sponsorship
  • timeline for the sponsorship
  • Any other option
Thanks !!!

You cannot sponsor your spouse until you are married.

Your spouse can apply for a visitor visa before you are married.

The timeline for a spousal sponsorship is about twelve months.

If you apply for a visitor visa after you are married, you will most likely be denied.

Thanks @k.h.p. for the response.

Yes you are right I will be applying the sponsorship after marriage,
Do you know the timeline for the visitor visa, my marriage is on May 16th, will it be possible to get the visitor visa before that.

Have you tried checking IRCC's online service that allows you to see current processing time estimates?
