Hello

I am a PR, done my landing in August and went back to Scotland in September. I will be returning to Canada shortly in January. I will be applying outland for my partner's PR, she resides in the UK. My question is how to go about proving that I reside in Canada. I would like to complete my sponsorship app in January and hand it in next few days after my return to Canada. I haven't seen any mandatory documents in the document checklist as far as sponsor's permanent address in Canada goes.Do I need to mention in my application that I have been outside of Canada for 3 months, concluding my affairs in the UK and returning in January?
Thanks

If you will already be back in Canada by the time you submit your app, you don't need to prove anything. Just list your residential address and mailing address as your Canadian address and that is all they need to know that you are currently residing in Canada.

Thanks. Will I be able to create my partner's profile and upload her docs after AOR from within Canada? She is not very computer savvy and will be in the UK.

Yes, you can do this for her if you like. :) It's all done online, it doesn't matter if it is you or her. The Schedule A is signed electronically (you only type the name) so you would be able to do that for her.

With regard to my previous question of being outside Canada for 3 months. I need to provide them with a detailed explanation of not having a job/income. Would it be for the better if I mention in my explanation letter that I had to leave couple of weeks after becoming a PR for 3 months? I mean, doesnt look good if I were to say that I have been looking for a job for 5 months and no luck.

I don't understand why you need to submit this letter?

Because I am the sponsor and I dont have a job.
You don't have to have a job to sponsor, you just cannot be collecting welfare. There are no minimum income requirements to sponsor. Demonstrate how you can support by savings if you can.

Yes, I understand but the checklist is asking for a detailed plan how is the sponsor going to support himself and the sponsored person. That's in case you cant prove your income with 3 months worth of payslips.

So is it not advisable to explain that I have been in Canada for two weeks only, doing my landing, taking care of accommodation arrangements and such, leaving for the sake of settling my affairs abroad, preparing sponsorship app and returning in January? I mean, some of the evidence would point to that, like photos with my partner from November and I want to attach flight tickets used on the way back from and to Canada as a proof of sponsor's visit. Or would you advise against that not to raise unnecessary concerns?

Sorry, I have no idea what you're talking about. It says if you are not working in Canada you need to provide the detailed explanation, that's not new...where are you seeing anything about having to submit 3 payslips? Am I missing something?

Sorry, my mistake. I was wrong. But could you please answer my previous question? This is it in full:

Honestly I think you're way overthinking this. Check the boxes off for supporting documents, evidence, and proof. I personally would not be so concerned with so much detail (Including flights etc for proofs of visit is great, we did that for trips taken together)...you don't need to provide more than they ask for in terms of write ups and explanations, it will only cause potential delays and confusion.

You need to provide a detailed explanation on the support piece. Just follow the checklist.

OP, I think you are making this more complicated than it should. I understand, the process can do that to your head, I’ve been there ;)

When we applied Outland for my husband, I wasn’t living in Canada, didn’t have a job and no real income for over a year. I showed my savings to prove that we could support ourselves once we get to Canada, we didn’t have any issues at all.

Sorry to interject but may I ask if you declared your partner as a non accompanying dependent before landing last August?
