My common law partner which I am sponsoring from france, lived in canada until the end of 2010.

I have a question regarding what happened when he left.

1. His work permit stated that he must leave Canada by dec31 2010.
However his last day of work was dec 31st and he was only able to book a flight(at a reasonable price) on jan 13th and this is when he left canada for good, and I joined him 3 months after.

Will this cause a problem with his current sopnsorship. He was never ordered to leave or anything like that, I'm just wondering if they will be able to tell that he stayed an extra 13 days. And even if they can tell will this be a problem? As a french citizen isn't he allowed to stay 90 without a visa anyways??

Well it's not as though they caught up with him before he left and could accuse him of trying to stay here permanently. I don't believe the forms ask when you left Canada anywhere, but when your last entry to Canada was. I don't think they will care either way, and I also don't think they will know exactly "when" he left.

ok thanks so much, we started freaking out while filling out his personal history, and thinking back remembered about him overstaying his visa.

Anyways feel a lot better now thanks again!!!
