Hello first time posting

I have a few parts to my question. The first is that I know many people have questions about if you need to prove income and from what I have read you don't, however you need to provide some sort of proof you can support yourselves financially be it savings or a job offer, however I was curious if they would consider a degree my spouse has (Polymer Engineering from a Korean national university) as a positive since Chemical Engineering is in high demand? This sort of connects to my next question. We are both in Australia on a working holiday, so submitting an Option C isnt really going to do anything. I haven't lived in Canada long enough in any year to be a resident for tax purposes (I'm a citizen) but I will be going to University of Alberta if we can get this all worked out. So my next question is if there are any extra steps applying from a country that isnt her country of citizenship?
Finally my third question is, can we file the paperwork, and before its finish processing (say 8 months down the line) have her come on a visitor visa and apply for a visa extention and a work permit even though it was an outland application?

Hi

Yes, they consider income potential. You will need to write a solid plan on how you will support yourselves.

If she has been in Australia for more than 6 months, she will need a PCC.

She can come as a visitor but will not be able to apply for an OWP. Only inland applicants can apply for the OWP.

Could you enlighten me as to what a PCC is? Would she be able to apply for a visa extension and an OWP if she comes as a visitor and we apply for spousal sponsorship?

PCC = police certificate.

Assuming she is Korean, she is visa-exempt. If she comes to Canada, she can apply to extend her visitor status.

She can only apply for an OWP if she applies inland. If you are planning on coming here in 8 months, there is no point in waiting that long to apply inland when you can just apply outland now.

Ah yea, we realize we will need police certificates from both Korea and Australia. So it would just be best to file here and then have her come as a visitor as a tourist (though she cant get an OWP)? How can she recieve the visa? Will she have to fly all the way to Australia, or does she simply exit Canada and reenter?

She doesn't receive a visa. Her Confirmation of Permanent Residence, COPR, will be mailed to her. She can then flagpole at the Canada-US border or make an appointment to land inland at an office.

Can we have the confirmation mailed to her parents address in Korea if we won't be here, or should I get a friend to forward the letter to us? Also since we are providing a plan on how to support ourselves we will need no financial documents? Maybe a bank statement proving funds?
