Hi all,
My spouse has filled his sponsorship forms and then sent them on to me in Australia. There is going to be 3 months between the date he signed his sponsorship forms and the date that i finished gathering all of my documents to submit mine. Is there a time limit for the validity of his sponsorship documents? That is, does it matter that he has signed off in May 2015 and mine will not be until July 2015?

Re: Outland application

This seems like a reasonable amount of time, the time limited documents I can think of are the medical exam (1 year) the police certificates (I believe only good for 3 months from their issue date) the tax return/option C print out (this years), and if you are married, the marriage date determines if you will get rule 51 on your COPR, which I have reason to believe through anecdotal evidence they use the dates of the document signing to determine how long you've been married.

Police checks are now valid a bit longer than 3 months, but the real concern here is that one, or more, forms could be outdated before CIC even receives the application.

At the very least, the CIC website needs to be checked on the day the forms are signed.

Agreed. Make absolutely sure that the forms are all current before sending off the app.
