Hello

I am a British citizen and will be marrying my Canadian boyfriend this summer. After much research we have decided to go down the outland application route. (It's faster and we can appeal....also I need to be able to go home and see my family.)

I am just coming to the end of my youth mobility visa here in Canada so will be returning home soon, and then we will be getting married and submitting our outland pr application. I have just found out that I can apply for a new youth mobility visa (even though I have already had one) it's called the International Experience Canada Visa. I was wondering if I could come back into Canada after we are married, on this visa, which would mean that i would be able to work. My question is, would this affect our application? I know I could possibly come back in as a visitor (I may be turned away) but I won't be able to work, this visa would solve that problem. Also the visa is for 12 months as opposed to the visitor visa for 6 months. I just don't want to jeopardise our outland application.
Or would I be able to come back in on this new Youth mobility visa, and then put in the outland application? Again, I won't do it if it will affect my application, I will just try to be allowed in as a visitor, which I believe I have a good chance of getting if he is with me at the border.

Any help would be most appreciated.

It is doable. The problem probably will be that all of the 5K IEC visa may be gone by the time you apply.

PDes, you can apply for the International Experience now and you have until the end of the year to use it. These are usually gone by June so it may be a good idea.

Can't apply until the present visa expires.

That is really weird because my friend just did in BC (she is from Australia) and she had confirmation that she will receive it... strange..

The rules for IEC Australia and IEC UK are different. http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/united_kingdom-royaume_uni/experience_canada_experience/faq.aspx

"I am currently in Canada on Working Holiday status and would like to apply participate again next year. When can I submit a new application to the IEC?

You may submit an application to the IEC at any time while we are accepting applications for an upcoming year. It is important to note that you cannot be issued a new temporary work permit until your current permit expires and that the Letter of Introduction you would be issued by the Visa Section at the High Commission of Canada in the UK is valid for 12 months from the date of issue.

So? I says that you can apply and get an LOI. You only need to wait with flagpoling until the day your current permit expires.

Agreed, you can get the letter beforehand, and then just wait to flagpole and get the new work permit.
