Hi everyone, just thought of creating this thread for everyone that's doing outbound spousal sponsorship who had their application received by CIC/IRCC on January 31, 2017.

Let us all connect with each other about our application process and contacts with CIC/IRCC.

Our application was sent via Purolator to CIC-Mississauga on January 30 and was received by CIC/IRCC on January 31, 2017.
Feb 22, 2017 AOR was received by both Sponsor and Principal Applicant via email
Feb 22, 2017 Account was linked
Feb 22, 2017 Check Status and Message
Feb 22, 2017 Request Letter: Schedule A and Police Certificate by March 31, 2017
Feb 25, 2017 Upload Schedule A and Police Certificate

Hi,

Thanks for posting this. I also am on a similar timeline as you. Here is my info:

We sent our app via Purolator also. Just for info sake, I paid just under $24 for overnight delivery from Calgary, and my app was over 100 pages long, as I have been in a relationship with my common-law partner for almost 5 years.

The package was sent out Jan. 24 and received Jan. 25 by CPC-M.

Feb. 22 2017 Application was linked to myCIC account. (I had been trying to link the app everyday since Feb. 8; pretty sure they had just opened up my file that day as I had called the IRCC help line 2 days prior and they told me that my receipt number had not been entered into their system and so they had no record of my app)

Feb. 23 2017 AOR1 was sent to my partner's email account, even though it was my account that the app was linked to (??)
Application/profile details

Application profile/status : Open
Review of eligibility : Not Started
Review of medical results : Passed
Review of submitted documents : blank
Scheduling an interview : Not needed at this time
A background check is needed : In Progress
Final decision : Not started

This is our status now and has remained like this since Feb. 22 when I linked the account.

Tonight my partner set up an account and linked the application to his account. Apparently, after he did that, I got a message in my account that another account was linked to the application. At this point, I lost the ability to check status and messages. I think that the newly linked account now is the one that has the ability to be able to check status and messages. Just something I noticed.

Thanks for joining

Please note that it was the New application that we used.

That's interesting that it only cost $24 from Calgary. I was quoted $17 for next day and went the little extra( next day before 10am) for $30 and I'm only 30mins drive away for CPC-M :)

Also, I've been married Since 2011 (2 children together).

As for linking, we both received the same application number but different UCI#
The info I received only allowed me to check application status; showing person being sponsored, sponsorship application status and permanent residence application status. While my spouses info showed a lot more:
Application staus: Open
Review of eligibility: Not Started
Review of medical results: Not needed at this time
Review of submitted documents: Provided
Scheduling an interview: Not needed at this time
A background check is needed: Not needed.at this time
Final decision: Not started

I found it odd that they request police certificate but yet have not needed at this time status under background check.

The request letter was addressed to my spouse(principal applicants) so the account was linked with my spouses info. We filled out use of representative form to have me(sponsor)as the representative and included my email address for the contact but so far my spouse (applicant) is the one receiving the info.

There is a thread for January applicants here:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/january-2017-outland-spousal-applicants-t469205.0.html

As they started processing your application in February, you might want to post with the folks in that group:

;) Thanks, i'm already part of those threads, but this is more Date Specific. Thought it would be interesting to see how things unfold for everyone with this particular reception date(January 31, 2017) ;) for both new and old application.

Hi rcs,

As a representative, are correspondences mailed to your address then? The only thing I worry about is when the time comes (hopefully it will come), if they mail a letter regarding a final decision for PR and documents associated with that, will it go to the PA's address?

I don't really trust the postal service in S. America where my partner is currently living. I would rather have the correspondences go to my Canadian address.

Thanks

Same here, but when I say the letter was addressed to my spouse, it wasn't actually mailed out to the home address, it was addressed to the applicant (full name and address stated on the letter posted in online account-GCKey account). If you indicated an emailing address on the generic application form, they(CIC)will communicate with you through email directing applicant to the online linked account(at least that's what the IMM 0008 (12-2016) page 2 of 6 #1 said . So no worries.

Hey,
My application was received on Jan 24, 2017 (old version).
I received an email from the Canadian ambasy in Paris asking for a copy of renewed passport, RPRF & to fill up the IM 5562. So what does that mean??

That means you should comply with their request and respond within the time frame given so that your application isn't rendered incomplete and sent back.

Ok, great, thanks for the clarification!

;) Received my SA just now via email: "You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor". I'm so thrilled. ;) 1 weeks after receiving AOR.

Hi,

I (Sponsor) received a confirmation email (which I'm assuming is AOR1) that our application was received on Feb 3. Email was sent to me on Feb 25 and application was linked to my wife's (PA's) account on Feb 27. Although, in her account it DOES NOT mention anything about a request for Schedule A or Police check to be uploaded.

Should we be concerned?

Hello there, it's recommended to acquire police certificate in advance to avoid delay when requested. You'll have approximately 30 days to upload the requested police certificate and or Schedule A. Police certificates take longer to obtain in some countries, so you can proceed to obtain police certificate in advance of being asked and fill out the Schedule A and have them ready to upload when it's requested of you.

There may also be specification based on your country so if I were you, I'd check cic site and type in police certificate in the search field and see if there is any specifications for your country(Uk).

Keep in touch

On Mar 2 when SA was received Schedule A and PCC was requested and we completed it and uploaded it. We are now eagerly waiting.

Anyone else with an update or request since last posts?

Medical request?
Passport request?
Interview?

Great thread... I'm a march applicant though
