Hi,
I'm new to the Family sponsorship side of the forum and am looking for some advice.
Recently my parents expressed an interest to start visiting me since they have recently retired and have the time. I have applied for my PR under the Canadian Experience Class and am waiting for the result (expected around june -Aug 2013). I am on a extended visitor status until then.
I understand they cannot apply for the Family Super visa as I am not a resident yet. However they would like to visit me for a few months each year (maybe more maybe less).
Questions :
(1) In this situation as per what I've read, the only way for them is to apply for a visitor visa with multiple entry. Is there any other option?
(2) Is there a possibility for them to get a visitor visa for more than 6 months? Or will they have to apply each time they visit until they apply and get a Super Visa? Any idea how long they give a regular visit visa for parents?
(3) If they come here on a Visitor Visa, can they apply for a super visa while in Canada? Can they stay here on implied status until then? Will the processing time be 6 months (step 1)+8 months (step 2) since they are applied from inside Canada?
(4) Can they apply for a Super Visa when eligible and apply for a regular visit visa in the meantime (since the processing time for a super visa from India is 32 (step 1)+36 months (step 2)!)
Any comments or advice would be appreciated. Thank you
