Hello everyone,

Last time I was employed in canada was a little over 3 years ago.
Will I need to

1) submit an explanation that I haven't been employed in canada and therefore do not have it

or

2) dig up that old tax year info?

If it's the first one - how do I go about it - just a simple note or something specific?
I will also be providing the proof of my employment back home for the last 3 years

Thanks in advance

How about calling CSA and ask?. I'm sure they'll give you the right answer to that.
But as far as I know, in Canada even if you don't have income in a year, you still have to file taxes and report 0 income. Therefore, as long as you have filed taxes for the current year, the printout will be available.

Yeah, I know about the canada and how you have to file anyway - it's a bit different.

Anyways - What is CSA?

Thank you

The poster may have meant CRA (Canada Revenue Agency) or Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC). Hard to tell as previous posts from that person are not usually not that helpful.

I see

thank you

Get option c no matter how many years outside Canada. It's a required document and just a phone call to get it mailed to you. You have you list your work history on the forms. So, the VO will see you worked outside Canada.

Yeah, I guess it's just a phone call

it's not a required document actually. If you haven't worked in Canada for a while, there is no reason to get an Option C. Option C shows that you're not on welfare and that you have an income. If you are not in Canada, then no reason to get one. See the check list for sponsors: it explains what else you can supply if you don't have an Option C.

Option C is clearly stated as a required document on the document checklist. And, nowhere is it stated that it isn't required.
