Hi, my wife is about to get a study permit for Canada to do a one year course and I will then be applying for an open work permit.

I work in IT (Network Consultant) and am not sure what permit I need to apply for

I do not have a job offer as yet so assume it is permit that has Labour Market Impact Assessment exemption? IT Job

Thanks

Roger

Once you wife is awarded a study permit you will have to apply for a SOWP. No LMIA required. Spouses of international students aren't guaranteed SOWP.

Ok thanks - understand they are not guaranteed -

I was stuck on what type of permit to apply for, having re-read it I can now see
A work permit for a spouse of an international student.
