Open Work Permit While Waiting For PR?

Hi everyone, I wanted to ask if anyone has had any experience with the program that allows spouses waiting for PR approval to work within the country with an open work permit. It's a relatively new program, and the CIC website doesn't say much about it. What is the criteria for being accepted? How do we apply? If anyone has any info about it, it would be most appreciated!

This rule only applies to applications submitted using the inland route. It does not apply to applications submitted outland. When you submit the inland application you can include an open work permit application as well. The open work permit will be granted approximately four months after the application is submitted. (Note that you must be in status in Canada to qualify. Those who are out of status in Canada do not qualify for this program).
