Hello friends, I am seeking you expert advise on my case where I am working in Canada for more than 1 yr as of now and planning to apply for PR under CEC. I recently got married so now I will have my wife dependent too. Right now I am in India and have no plans to return back to Canada till Nov, as I have some project going on in Asia region but I am still employee of Canada branch.

My question, ??? shall I wait till Nov to apply for PR once we both reach back to Canada as my company will assist in getting her OPEN WORK PERMIT / DEPENDENT VISA for which I have already started process
OR
::) Shall I apply for PR from India only as it will be long wait of 6 months before we go to Canada and rules are getting tougher day by day. :o

Please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Abhi

Apply for PR asap. There is no reason for you to wait till November. You will waste precious time for no apparent reason if you don't do it now.
Your spouse's work permit has nothing to do with your PR application.
What I don't understand is why you're even thinking of applying in November even though you're eligible right now.

- Thanks for reply, actually someone guided me that its better to have you and your spouse in Canada first before you apply for PR. Will that make any difference ?

- Also, I will be travelling in a month to some Asian country so I am wondering where all my PR related correspondence will go ? As I don't have permanent place in Canada and stayed with friends only.

- Do I or my wife need to go for Medical Exams for PR as she will going for on while we are procuring her OPEN WORK PERMIT and I already have Work Permit till 2015 ? :-X

Warm regards,

Abhi

It will not make any difference. Apply from India or Canada shouldn't make any difference.

All the initial communications will happen via email. Only time you will need an address in Canada is when CIC asks for Passport to issue PR Visa.

You both will still need to go for Medicals. I believe all these are mentioned in the guide in CIC website
