Open work permit from outside Canada - Urgent !!!

Hello,

I applied for OWP on 28 March 2020. Due to COVID-19, I gave my biometrics on 19 of May 2020.

I still haven't received any news although the waiting time is over. It's been more than 7 months now.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation? I know because of COVID-19 things are taking a long time to complete, but were there any situations where the deadline was completed and there was no news?

This is normal processing in the current situation. Is your spouse in Canada or are your travelling with your spouse when you get the visa?

So you wait for approval. If you are travelling with your partner you don’t need written authorization. If you are travelling alone and don’t have a job offer, you need authorization to travel.

Right now i am waiting for my trv to to get processed and once I get it, I want to go back to my home country for a few months to complete some pending work and come back. My question is If i have a valid open work permit ( till 2023) and valid trv, will I be able to get back? I don't have a job. on the website, it states that

As a worker, your travel is non-discretionary if you’re in either of these situations:

• You have a valid work permit and normally live in Canada.
  • This applies even if you’ve been laid off.
• You’re a worker who meets allof the following:
  • has a letter of introduction for a work permit (open or employer-specific)
  • has a valid job offer
  • can work once you enter Canada and complete your 14-day quarantine (unless you’re exempt)

Really confused. In my case, I have a valid work permit and been in Canada since 2018. so do I qualify? Please let me know your clarification for this statement.

I am in same situation although my wp is closed filed in April. Application passed all steps and visa is approved, passport request due date was passed in the month of November still no update, no one knows why they are holding ppr documents even after approving visa for so long.
