Open Work Permit for Spouses

Can this be used if I were to sponsor a spouse (based outside Canada) so she can come over and work?
Please clarify on how this works. If you have done this and can explain the step-by-step process I would be highly appreciated.

I believe you are a PR. If so - the answer is no.

Your spouse only qualifies for an OWP if your spouse comes to Canada as a visitor and you sponsor them inland.
