Open work permit for Spouse

Hi,

I am a new member to forum though I have been reading many threads. I have a query. Please help me with your suggestions...
I am in Student visa now in Ontario. My PNP (PEI) is under processing. AOR was on 17th December 2015.
I am getting married next month ( Mid of May 2016). I hope to receive PPR around the same time.
I found the average time for Sponsoring spouse is around 11,12 months. But for OWP is only couple of weeks.
I don't want to include spouse PR application to mine because it might delay my application( lot of other factors too ).
Can I apply for OWP for my spouse when I have PR or only Sponsoring is the option ?.

You HAVE to declare your spouse on your application if you marry before you land. If you don't, you can never sponsor your spouse.

Either wait till after you land as a PR to get married, or include her as non-accompanying if you don't want her to join you yet.
