She applies to the Visa office responsible for where she is resident. She needs proof of your status (work permit in Canada) to include with the application. She should read the instructions for the VO where she will be applying.

Hello PPM,
Thanks for reply. I will provide her my status( Work permit, Prof of employment in Canada, T-4, Bank statement). Still she need documents from HRSDC??

No, she doesn't require any documents from HRSDC

Hi PMM,

Both me and my spouse are TFW holding a two-year work permit under NOC D and will be valid in June 2014 under different employers.
Now i have a skilled LMO with a different employer and will apply for a new work permit soon. I want to apply SOWP for my spouse as well.

1.) can I apply SOWP together with my own new work permit?
2.) is it ok to have two work permits at the same time, since I didn't resigned yet from my current employer( waiting for the new work permit to be approved first).
3.) in applying SOWP should i ask my new employer's permission if I can apply one for my spouse?

Thanks a lot.

1. Yes you can include your spouse's application for SOWP with your application.
2. Once you receive the new work permit, the old one is invalid. The new one will say "only valid for the above employer in the above noted location"
3. Why? It is you that is apply for the work permit, not your employer and your spouse's work permit is no business of the employer.
