Open Work Permit - Experience with processing

Hi

Does anyone have any experience with open work permit submission from NZ? The processing time states 5 weeks, so that is not that bad, but would be interested to know whether there are cases this has been processed earlier than that OR can you tell what the process stages are? Mine says "being processed", so one does ponder whether already someone has had a look at it and started processing or it is still waiting on pile for its turn and this is just a standard message I'll see for few weeks...

My common law partner is already in Canada on highly skilled worker permit.

It's just a standard message - it really tells you nothing.

The processing time can certainly be shorter than the 5 weeks - or it can be longer.
