Open Work Permit Appkication for Spouse

Hi all,

My name is Shahzad. My wife has applied for an open work permit based on my PGWP and it's been almost 5 months and she did not get any reply. We email the CHC Islamabad twice and twice they replied that the application is in queue for a review by an officer.

Is anyone out there who is in the same boat or has been in a similar situation. Please let me know how long it will take to get the decision as this is getting delayed too much. The processing time is 3 months I guess. Is there anyway I can email the embassy to get a clear status.

Any help/suggestion would be appreciated.

Hi Shahzad,

One of my friend also applied for open work permit of his wife in CHC Islamabad. Its been 5 months as well. The medicals were done in early December.

Still waiting for visa though.

In your case even medical is not done?

Good for your friend.

In my wife's case, even the medical is not done and that is may be because the application is still in queue.

Did he (your friend) ever contacted CIC?

Hi,

Yes he recently contacted in January and they told him that they got the medical results and background checks are done. But waiting for officer review.

So seems like everything is done except for final visa.

Lets hope you also receive the medical call soon. That looks like mandatory to proceed ahead.

He has a close work permit means bound to one company.

Still no news from embassy for his spouse.
