Open work permit along with spouse intra-company transfer visa possible ?

Hi,

Can I apply for open work permit along with my spouse's intra-company transfer visa (NOC type A)?
If yes, what are the documents I need to arrange beforehand?
If no, when I will be eligible to apply for open work permit? I read somewhere that my spouse needs to be there in Canada for 6 months, then only I will be eligible for applying for open work permit.
