OOPNP - Is having a valid status in Canada a requirement of OOPNP?

Hi all,

1) Is having a valid status in Canada or residing in Canada a requirement of the newly announced OOPNP?

2) If the applicant applies while on a valid status (work/study permit) and while living in Canada, but their permit expires while the PNP application is in process and they are now on implied status as a result of an ongoing work permit application with the CIC?

I talked to Opportunities Ontario today and they told me that's it is necessary to have valid status in Canada. However, if your status changes let's say from Worker to Student that's ok. We just need to inform them that status is changed. Hope this helps!!!

Because people in other thread says it is not necessary !!!

It's not a requirement as long u have 400 points and r able to somehow convince them that u have ties with Ontario in ur paperwork that's all whats needed.
