Ontario Pnp-Passport issue

Hey guys,
I sent in my Ontario Pnp application yesterday and just today realised that my passport is only valid for another year and a half.The application form says my passport should be valid for at least 2 more years and to write an explanation if it was not possible to get a new passport in time to send away the application.I didn't provide this letter of explanation.Has anyone been in this situation before?Do you think my application could be rejected for this reason?Or would they contact me and give me a chance to rectify the issue first?

You can send them a LOE and explain that you are unable to get a new passport due to this and that (if there is a barrier). I think its going to be fine, some countries will not allow you to renew a passport earlier than 3 month before its expiration.

Thank you for the reply.I already sent my application a few days ago though.Would it be OK to send a LOE now to explain this?

You can send OINP an email informing the same and may also include a valid reason.
