Hi re: inland spusal sponsorship of Irish/UK citizen. Below is the current info posted on the cic site about my application status. I received a letter requesting my criminal clearance form from the UK with a deadline of september 28th or my file could be delayed or canceled and I would have to start the whole process again. I got confirmation from criminal records office in the UK that they mailed it 1st class international directly to Vegreville towards the end of august with my client id number and the officer in charge of my file listed as the Attn# on the envelope they projected 2-3 weeks max for them to receive it. Since then it has been a month and a half and nothing has been updated online and no contact has been made to myself or my lawyer who has written correspondance sent to her office. I was just wondering if this is a normal delay or if I should be concerned. Thanks.

We received your application for permanent residence on September 7, 2011.

We started processing your application on July 23, 2012.

Medical results have been received.

While our application is 'outland', every update we have seen thus far in ECAS has always been something we knew about already. For us, we're expecting to get letter or email before seeing "anything" new in ECAS. From our standpoint, that is normal.

Hi MckC,

The online system does not seem to be updated all that ofter.

I am an Irish citizen who has an outland application going through London. My wife was approved on July 20 and from there my paperwork was sent to London. My online file still just says application received on April 20, and medical results have been received.

Where in Ireland/UK are you from?

Thanks for the input guys. I'm from Belfast in ireland however I have been in Canada for many years but just applied for permanent residence status via family class sponsorship in 2011. Seems to me the online status feature is not updated that often. I know it can take some time I was just worried because they gave me a letter saying deadline to receive criminal background check was septemeber 28th and i had it mailed from the UK direct to the cic processing center in Alberta end of august I was just hoping they would have stated online that they got it since I was worried they said my application may be canceled or delayed if they do not receive that form by the 28th. My lawyer has since said it's nothing to be worried about and when determining the times and dates they will go by the date stamped from the postal service as the delay between the mail room and my actual processing officer can be weeks or months. I have no convictions but some arrests on there just hoping it's nothing that will cause a problem..
