Sometimes I expect sth everyday as I have such endless hope, other times (even when the cic website says there is going to be some update) I expect nothing as I am used to the situation. That is the way it is

I did. They told me that they are waiting for background information from other government office(s) and that they can not provide me with a date when my application will be complete. But I guess this is a common response because when I search few other immigration forums I found that many applicants got the same response.
I hope things will start to clear soon for me and others who are in the same boat.
