Ongoing case-Parent Sponsorship 2019

The application was submitted in June 2019. The case is now still with IRCC HK. There is no further update since Nov 2021. I've been informed it is in the process of background check every time while I follow up with IRCC. My parents are almost 70 years old, they were not involved in any sensitive work, never served for army, have no criminal records and non government background.

Has anyone experience a similar situation before? I would be really appreciated if anyone can suggest what should I do to speed up this process. Thank you in advance.

At this point I would recommend that you hire a lawyer and have that lawyer file a writ of mandamus to force IRCC to make a decision.

Do they have any health issues? Have you always met LICO?
